Top Ten Tuesday: Sequels

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish.

Top Ten Books Sequels I'm Dying to Read

10. Insurgent by Veronica Roth

I'm sure this sequel is going to make frequent appearances on Top Ten lists this week, so I wanted to get it out of the way. I'm hoping Insurgent will allow us to see more of Tris' world and that we'll meet the other factions at last.

9. Angel Fire by L. A. Weatherly

I'm gonna have to forget about this terrible UK cover (the US one is a thousand times prettier - yes, even with the creepy headless body) and remember that the first book had one of the coolest premises I came across all year - evil angels sucking the life out of innocent people.

8. Madame Bovary's Daughter by Linda Urbach

I think this counts as a sequel, although it's written by a different author, 150 years after the original novel! Madame Bovary is one of my favourite classics and this new imagining tells the story of Charles and Emma Bovary's orphaned daughter.

7. Supernaturally by Kiersten White

Paranormalcy was much more cute and fun than I expected (why choose covers that make the series look so downcast and serious? It's really not!) so I'm now looking forward to reading the 2nd book.

6. Raising Demons by Rachel Hawkins

I really enjoyed Hex Hall and bought the sequel straight away (this is the UK version of Demonglass ). Can't wait to read it.

5. The Fox Inheritance by Mary E. Pearson

The Adoration of Jenna Fox was one of the most interesting books I've read in a long time. I'm not sure whether this is technically a sequel or a prequel, but it tells the story of the friends Jenna left behind

4. Magic Under Stone by Jaclyn Dolamore

The sequel to Magic Under Glass. The first book was a fantasy/steampunk retelling of Jane Eyre. Loved it and am very excited to see what the sequel holds.

3. Forever by Maggie Stiefvater

The end of The Wolves of Mercy Falls. I will be very sad to say goodbye to this series and these characters. These books have always struck me as being 'winter' novels, so I plan on snuggling down with this final one on a cold evening.

2. A Million Suns by Beth Revis

I've been raving about Across the Universe excessively and I am truly looking forward to the next installment in this series.

1. Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore

The Seven Kingdoms Trilogy comes to a conclusion with Bitterblue. I've enjoyed these novels of medieval fantasy very much - Graceling and especially Fire - and by the time Bitterblue is published, I'll have been waiting 2 years to see how it all ends. I am so looking forward to meeting the characters again and seeing what has become of Katsa, Po and of course, Bitterblue.

  3. I just put 'Magic Under Glass' in my TBR pile! From your brief description, it sounds like a very neat story! And I think I would count Madame Bovary's Daughter... would love to read that one as well!
